General Information
Everything you will need to take part in the Digital Skills for Social Workers is accessed via this website. This resource is open to all social workers and students (statutory, voluntary, private) in Northern Ireland.
Requirements
It’s very easy to take part in our Digital Skills for Social Workers resource. The only things you need are:
- access to a smartphone/PC/Mac/tablet with an internet browser and speakers/headphones
- access to the internet via 3G/4G/5G or broadband
Finding your way around
It’s very easy to find your way around the Digital Skills for Social Workers resource.
- Navigation tool bar – the pages listed at the top right of the screen (like this one) are intended to be give you basic information and the ‘Topic List’ page contains links to all of the topics in the programme, so you can jump to any topic you choose.
- Images – the large image and text tiles which make up the bulk of the page also allow you to jump to any topic you choose.
- Additonal information and links – at the bottom of each topic, you’ll find links to the next topic (in order) or the previous topic you visited.
- Reflective learning exercises – Reflective Practice is the cornerstone of social work because it encourages you to apply your knowledge and relate your learning to your work and these questions have been included to support you to reflect on what you have learned.
- NISCC Logo/Home Page – if you click the NISCC logo in the top left of the screen, you will be taken back to the Home Page of the programme.
- Feedback – a link to a short feedback survey is available at the bottom of each topic page – please provide feedback as this will help with furture development and improvements. You can complete feedback against each topic or the overall resource.
Timescale
There is no specified timescale to work through the resource – you work at your own pace.
